LOA!!!

We received a call from BAAS on Monday, May 23rd that they had received our LOA (Letter of Acceptance, or Letter Seeking Confirmation)! This is the piece of paper we have been waiting for (for 53 days, which btw Xiaoqing had predicted between 50 and 60 days) before moving on with the next steps.
he wor
This is a huge step forward, but we still need to. . .
Get our homestudy updated since we moved. Our appointment with our social worker is for the 7th of June.*

File for Lily Claire's I-800. Wait for the I-800. If am not mistaken, another 6 weeks or so.

Wait for Travel Approval.

Sigh - still seems so far away until travel!

*Yes, we have moved AGAIN. Somehow we seem to time our moves with new additions to our family many times. All of our stuff (well 99 percent) is at our new place, and now we are having fun (not really) setting stuff up...Oh - the worst part of the last week has been something unfortunate that happened to Dr. Phil. Don't worry, he is all right. . . but his adventure deserves a post of its own!

Update!

I wasn't sure if we would get an update, but I received one late tonight! Ann from the Red Thread sent me this info and a new picture of Lily.

Jiang man ling can not walk by herself yet,but she sit very steady .
She sleep by her own in her own little bed .
She drink formula or water from bottle.
She loves adult to take her out to play .
Below is her measurement:
weight :9kg
Head:45cm
chest:48cm
height:72cm
foot:10cm

This picture has the closest thing to a smile I have seen :-). She looks so much bigger already! Sniff, it makes me think about how much I am missing. I hope that we will be getting our LOA soon. We are on day 48. Xiaoqing says the average time is 50 to 60 days, so maybe we are almost there! We are also moving, which means we need to get our homestudy updated before we can file for Lily's I-800.

Care Package to Lily Claire

While we wait. . .
We are sending a care package to Lily. The Red Thread is one of a few parties that put together and deliver packages to waiting children in social welfare institutes or foster homes in China. Ann, the woman who has been putting together everything for us, has been such a blessing. She sent photos this morning of the package going to Lily!

I had to e-mail her photos to put into the album. Also, she translates a letter for us to the staff there. I asked some questions about Lily and hope to get updated information. Also, there is a disposable camera that I hope is used to take photos of Lily. Sometimes (many times) there are no new updates, but sometimes people get new photos, a video even, and answers to their questions!

In any case, sending this to Lily felt like something we could do while waiting. And also a chance to thank those who have been caring for our tiny treasure.

If you feel so let, please pray for Lily and for us.

Happy Sunday!

Bun buns

A friend's rabbit had a litter of bunnies! Aren't they so cute. And little. And furry. With their eyes still closed. The boys went nuts because they were soooo adorable. I love it because my boys actually, to me, look just as small and sweet as these bunnies do to them. Does that make sense? When I see Aarbear holding a bunny, in my heart it looks like my bunny holding another bunny.

I am holding this little guy (George Washington is his name) in my hand. Teeny.

Nathan is just so pleased to be holding Obama. Yes - they are all named after presidents as this family is studying the presidents right now in their homeschooling group.

Matthew just fell in love with the babies right away.

Peter (the boy, not the rabbit) is Matthew's best friend. I love this photo because I love his expression as he cradles the little close-eyed wiggly-nosed tiny treasure in his hand. The bunny is even popping his head up for his close up.

Oh - and here it is: my bunny holding another bunny. I love this photo, too. It just shows how my almost 4 year old who runs around with a clone trooper blaster, who climbs furniture, who has pillow fights with Daddy can be gentle. Can be self-controlled. Can be protective and nurturing.

I must admit, those bunnies were awfully cute.

Oh - and the ones they were holding were not bad either ;-).

Sigh...

Aaron is looking awfully big to me these days.

3 hours + 10 meltdowns - 2 training wheels =

Go, Nathan, go! My sweet boy is on a 2 wheeler now!
And thank the Lord that Dave has more patience than me!
